MEC Lead Shot Charge Bar for Single-Stage (#130302*)
MEC Charge Bars accommodate MEC Powder Bushings and they regulate the amount of shot that is dropped with a volumetric measurement.MEC makes six different charge bar series for different machines & shot types:
Volumetric Shot Drops: Charge Bars drop shot by volume and not by weight. Therefore, the weights listed on the bar are only a guideline; it does not guarantee what weight will actually drop. This is because the density and size of different pellets can and do vary. Therefore, it is essential that you check the actual weight of the shot that is dropped with a reliable powder scale, such as the BallistiScale-1500. After checking a couple drops, you will know what your bar is dropping.
The Universal Charge Bar is an alternative product that may save you money and storage space. Some people prefer using their bushings with original MEC Charge Bars, while others like the universal adjustability of the Universal Charge Bar.
HOT-RODDING YOUR MEC RELOADER:
You can improve MEC performance with just a couple convenient accessories:
Better Crimps: When loading new/primed hulls, your crimps may not stay closed if you are using a standard plastic crimp starter. The Super Crown Crimp Starter is designed to put a lasting crimp memory into new plastic, essential for tight and functional crimps on new hulls. The Super Crown also provides better crimps on once-fired hulls too.
Priming: The EZ Prime auto primer feed (#285CA) can be added to the 600JR. EZ Prime dispenses primers automatically, which is a great time saver and a calming influence when loading. (*The automatic primer feed feature is not available for .410 reloaders.)

!/2 oz MEC charge bar | 7/28/2019
I purchased a MEC SS 1/2 oz charge bar. A 1/2 oz is 218.7 grains. This charge bar throws 185 grains of 7 1/2 shot. the crimps fold in and allow the shot to fall out. The bar is not calibrated properly.

The Skeet Special "SS" bar is made to throw a skeet charge, which is always #9 shot. You would want a standard 1/2 oz bar or, better yet, a Universal Charge Bar.
