The DGS slug line has proven itself in the field and in the lab to be one of the best all-around performing slugs for a variety of shotgun and barrel combinations. Our lab is continually amazed at the versatility and performance of this slug.

Roll or fold crimps work well with the DGS line, but please follow the given load data. The highly efficient gas seal and finely detailed slug structure are engineered to work symbiotically to achieve hard-hitting accuracy. Exclusive self-adjusting column height for perfect crimps. Rotational vane design stabilizes and reduces friction, increasing accuracy and velocity.
Dangerous Game Slugs are available in three gauges:
LOADING NOTE: When loading slug components with an inherent gas seal, the entire slug component must be nudged down with your reloading press' rammer tube. Many loaders complain that they don't have enough room for a crimp. This tells us that the reloader is NOT pushing down on the slug prior to crimping and thus not properly seating the slug on the powder. Depending on your loading tool, these loads may require a series of nudges to allow the powder to enter and fill the concave (cupped) plastic gas seal. If you don't do this, then you'll get the "no-fit" problem or a failed load when the powder refuses to fully ignite. Burned or punctured gas seals is almost always a result of this user error.
WARNING: Spire tip slugs placed within a tube magazine (i.e. pump or auto shotguns) must not have any protrusions from the crimp. Although it is unlikely, it is possible that the tip of the protruding slug could impact the primer of the shell in front of it. This could be extremely dangerous. A pointed slug should be covered with a cardboard or plastic disc or even fold-crimped. Failing that, the shotgunner should only place one slug at a time in a tube magazine. Verify no slug, regardless of type, protrudes past the top of a hull.

| Hand Loaded into Fiocchi Hulls with 209 Primers and Hodgton Longshot Powder, COS12 Overdisk. Roll Crimped using ROLL12EX at about 350 RPM on drill press. Preheated die on sacrificial hull till hot to touch. 50 shells formed about 30 seconds apart. Grouping less than slug diameter at 45 feet. Reduced load from 42 to 40 grains for last batch resulting in 1550 fpm. Stock Benelli M4 gets pretty hot with these shells. Heavy smoke produced at the local indoor range so I wait for it to clear between shots. | ||

| I did a review which didn’t post having 50 yard groups from the bench and chrono data. So here it is again. 2.75“ shell averaged 1500+ FPS w/ 2626 lbs/ft of energy. 3 shot group at 50 yds was 1.75” center to center through JM Pro smooth bore. 3 inch shell avg’d 120fps faster. 3 shot group was 1.5” at 50 yards from the bench. A very accurate slug with or without a rifled choke tube. Groups opened up a hair with a rifled choke but were still better than a foster slug. Foster slugs from Fed, Win, Rem will avg 3-3.5” from the same gun from the bench. Data came Ballistic Products slug manual, also a “must have”. | ||

| I thought I liked the LBC sabot slugs that are the little brother to these, then they ran out and I tried these and was highly impressed. Hard to stop these hole punchers once theyre moving. Full bore sized slug so no wasted diameter here. Definite favorite. | ||

| I did quite a bit of research before I chose these to load for my 12 Gauge. My research indicated that these are some of the most accurate slugs for a smooth bore. I am pushing these with 29 Grains of Longshot and they have less recoil and higher velocity than the factory slugs I had purchased. I got a 5 shot group of about 5 inches at 50 yards off hand with this combination. The factory load group was about the same. For an unsupported shot string and the first time I had shot the shotgun, I was impressed. As soon as they come back in stock, I plan on ordering a few hundred of them. | ||

| The first load,I fired 2 rounds at 25 yards - center of target, figure 8 group. Moved the target back to 50 yards for sight-in, fired one shot to check point of impact. Windage fine,one inch low. Adjusted scope 6 clicks up. The next three shots were centered, 3 1/2 inch group. Cant ask for anything better from a load. | ||
