    Description:

    The BP1253 is one of our most popular wad designs. With very ample shot volumes and Multi-Metal capability, it is applicable to many varied shooting situations. We refer to the BP1253 (along with our CTPS-46 and 47 and BP1251) as one of "The Tungsten Wads." Our TPS material and Seal-Slit technology make it one of the finest wads on the planet in terms of bore protection. The meaty cushion section also reduces spike pressures.

    The BP1253 is versatile and can handle just about any type of lead and non-toxic shot. We have loads for a wide range of pellet materials, including lead, steel, bismuth, and SpheroTungsten. The moderate shotcup and angled wad slits on make it a superb wad for non-toxic pellets of many different materials.

     

    Curmudgeon's Loading Tips:

    MYLAR: Steel and tungsten pellets are abrasive and can cause barrel damage if the shot protrudes through the wad slit or otherwise comes into direct contact with bore/barrel. Add Mylar Wraps as an insurance policy in order to reduce the chances of barrel damage due to hard, abrasive pellets. Mylar (#MYTHIN) may be trimmed and added to any of the loads for the BP1253.

    The BP1253 wad features a multi-level cushion section and a very accommodating shotcup. Our Seal-Slit Technology features four 45-degree angled slits set in thick (.045") high-density plastic resin. These slits overlap in order to maximize bore protection.

     

    NOTE: The reduced internal volume of tapered target hulls (Win AA-HS and Rem STS) do not function with the BP1253 wad. You won't see data for this combination because it simply does not work.
