Excellent hull | 12/14/2017 |
Ive been reloading for 50+ years and only started using Cheddites in the past few years mainly because of the abundance of once fired Rem and Win hulls in the 12, 20 and 410 gauges. However when it comes to some odd gauges like 16 the hulls are hard to come by. I now use exclusively Cheddites for my 16 gauge target and field loads and find them an excellent hull to load new as well as reloading. Im amazed at how they look even after a few reloads. They are relatively inexpensive and with the right load pattern perfectly. One extra feature is Cheddite supplies hulls to many other manufacturers so you may have been using their hulls for years without knowing it.

Great All Around 16 Gauge Hull | 8/28/2017 |
Ive used these hulls to reload 16 gauge target and hunting loads. They crimp nicely and coming already primed gives this hull a great value. Ive loaded #8s for trap and #6 and #5 for pheasant hunting. At times 16 gauge shells are hard to come by so I always have a few boxes of reloads ready for the trap range and pheasant fields.

Great hulls, great price | 10/10/2014 |
Ive reloaded several different brands of hulls, new and used, over about 10-12 years now. I tried Cheddite last, because I really wasnt familiar with the name. But I saw a recipe for a load that I wanted to try that included Cheddite, so I bought a bag of these primed and skived hulls. Well, the bottom line is that theyre great, as good as any Ive ever used and better than most. They crimp well, even when brand new--though admittedly I do use BPIs brass crimp starter tool--and they can be reloaded quite a few times. It turns out that the load I wanted to try has become my favorite load for upland birds. Try these hulls, even if youve never heard of them, because you wont regret it.
