5 Star for Pump guns No rating for Semi-Auto Guns | 6/30/2024 |
| I used these for book loads in a Win SXP 20 and a Win sx4 20 and have had repeatable results. The shells work flawlessly in the SXP but the brass rips every single time with the SX4. The brass is ripped by the extractor upon ejecting a spent shell. I had the same issues with the cheddite hot hulls. I polished the chamber to possibly reduce drag but it did not make a difference. I noticed the difference between the ribs on the Cheddite hulls versus the Federal hulls and wondered if the bearing surface of the additional surface area of the cheddite was causing too much drag for ejection so I purchased Federal 3 hulls from this site and it has remedied the problem. I have had zero issues with ripped brass since swapping out shells. The Cheddite shells/hulls have 72 ribs on the hull and the federal shells have 48 ribs. The hull obviously expands upon ignition of the powder and the only thing I can think of is that the increased bearing surface of the Cheddite hulls was causing too much pressure for the extractor to remove the hull. Again, these are great in my pump gun but I would not recommend for 1 3/8 loads for turkey hunting in this hull in a semi-auto shotgun. | ||

Great 20ga Hull for 3in loads | 8/15/2023 |
| These are great hulls, my go to for heavier 3in loads in the 1oz to 1 1/8oz steel / bismuth realm. For new hulls, they crimp pretty well in a MEC using the loader as is with no aftermarket parts. I get about 5 to 6 reloads out of each one with hunting and buck shot loads before tossing. I dont bother cutting 20 ga down to 2 3/4, though you could for more hull life. Best thing, Cheddites are regularly in stock and available compared to other brands - and constant in size and dimensions, unlike some other made for a particular load brands. | ||

| Been using these for a while now, good results only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the euro size primers as I am in the US and have a stock of CCI 209s and had to get some Euro sized ones ended up with Fiochi as they are a couple Thousandths bigger.... great hull for the money!! | ||

Cheddite 20ga 8mm brass. | 10/11/2014 |
| Have been reloading Cheddite 20ga 8mm brass with Vectan A1 powder, 19mm fibre wads and 1oz. lead shot UK No.7. These are fine in my Browning Citori. However, 16mm brass is tricky. The ejectors do not like the longer brass and on two occasions the gun would not open. Had to dismantle the lock to get the shells out! Sprayed the brass with a silicone spray to be able to use up the shells. | ||

| I am reloading these hulls with 20 gn 800x powder and 1-1/4 oz nickel plated #6 lead for upland bird hunting. The results have been excellent for about .50 cents a round using a MEC 650 loader. Hulls should last for 5 to 10 reloads... | ||
