Limited Hull options | 4/5/2023 |
| Very limited data outside of Fiocchi and Cheddite hulls. All recipes use exclusively the same brand primer as the hull which would be okay years ago. In the current world where you have to mostly just take whatever primers are available, this makes it difficult to follow or use. If you just plan to buy pre-primed hulls and shoot them once, the book is good. If you are like most reloaders that like Winchester and Remington hulls and a variety of primer options, this book isn’t so helpful. | ||

| Our line of GBP wads are designed for straight-wall hulls. The hulls that you say that you are using are taper-based hulls. They are a very poor fit and finish. We speak extensively about these physical differences in all our manuals and other publications. The AAHS hull, in particular, has a tapered interior cup that limits many wads from being loaded in that hull. It just doesn't work. Therefore, when you don't see the exact data combination of components that you may happen to have in your loading room, it is generally because they just don't fit. You are trying to put a square peg in a round hole. | ||

| I have found many new loads in the newest edition of High Performance Loads for Clays. I have had the previous edition for years, which has been a great resource. The newest edition is even better, with new loads with powders not found in the original. Great job BPI! | ||

| Yep, just about all of the loads require BP components, but I really like BP stuff. Ive never seen a manual lied out like this one. Its unique in that it has the loads listed by wad. I really like it. The only reason I cant give it five stars is the fact it is limited to BP wads. A book with this layout that included all of the common hulls and wads would just about be worth its weight in gold. | ||
