Lawrence chilled lead shot is beautifully spherical and consistently dense. It is highly polished to a uniformly round sphere and then graphite coated. The resulting surface is slick for loading and pellet adjustment in the ignition process. No other shot compares to Lawrence in overall accurate sizing, hardness, spherical quality, and consistent density. This results in tighter patterns and more lethal performance.

Comparing Magnum, Chilled and Plated Lead Shot:

  1. Plated shot is the best choice for superior game loads. It offers better penetration and energy-transfer qualities. Plated shot also generally produces tighter patterns.
  2. Chilled lead shot is slightly softer than magnum lead shot, but just a bit denser because it lacks antimony. Many shotgunners like chilled lead shot because of its increased density and its ability to deform and transfer energy (somewhat like the purpose of a hollow-point bullet).
  3. Magnum lead shot is harder because of its antimony alloy. Many shotgunners prefer harder magnum shot for its ability to retain a more consistent spherical form.
