Just ok. Good, but different | 8/9/2023 |
An update to my prior review. Ive dropped it to 3 because this change I mention, with the missing extrusion on the bottom of the measure is a bit of a PITA : . Its usable for sure, but MECs instructions to pinch the drop tube fingers together is a bit of an issue. Get it too high up, and the tube is no longer parallel, and binds when you use the press. Get it too low, and the pro-check, part #68 in the schematic https://www.mecoutdoors.com/700-versamec-parts then hits the wad guide when you slide the charge bar over. If you do not get this PERFECT, then you have powder and shot leakage. This is mostly powder, and its especially annoying with very find powders like Hodgon titewad etc.

Good, but different | 7/10/2023 |
I ordered this for my early 1980s Versamec, as the original had finally broken off where the shot bottle mounts. This new one is very sturdy in that area and bolted right on. The only thing I do not like about it though is that for some reason they change the unit and it does not have an extrusion where it meets the measuring tube like the original. Why this is I dont know. The instructions explain this and say to raise the measuring tube until it is flush with the bottom of the new Measure assembly. It seems to me the extrusion on the original was a good feature and makes SURE that your stuff is going where you want it to. Apparently some engineeror cost cutting wizard decided not so. We will see how it works. But with all that said, it is STURDY!
