SG20S Sporting 20 Short wad (250/bag)
The SG20-S is designed to accommodate bulky powders, large shot payloads or low-volume, taper-interior hulls. The shotcup of the SG20-S is the same depth as the SG20-L. The design intent of this series of wads is to allow some of the shot to extend above the shotcup, thus complementing a fully distributed short to mid-range pattern. The cushion section of the SG20-S is comprised of a large tubular reducer that accommodates many different load heights and offers excellent inertia absorption during the firing process. The best range for the SG20-S is approximately 25-45 yards, making it a great wad for upland game hunters and clays shooters alike. Our best results tend to be with 7/8-ounce lead loads although we often use 1 ounce of #6 or #7 for hunting loads. View sample LOAD DATA from our BP manuals SPECIFICATIONS:

Disappointed | 12/14/2023 |
The shot cup of this wad only holds 5/8oz of shot so, if you have a 1oz load, 3/8oz of shot is unprotected by the shot cup. I was hoping this wad would be a replacement for the Remington SP20 or the Winchester AA20F1 wad. Its not.

With lead shot loads it is not always desirable to completely encase the entire shot charge. The design intent of this series of wads is to allow some of the shot to extend above the shotcup, thus complementing a fully distributed short to mid-range pattern. Please see the dimensions above. For further reading on this topic and the design intent of this wad series, refer to "High Performance for Clays."

Great For Hot Loads | 10/4/2018 |
The SG20S is ideal if you want hot loads for clays whether loading 9s for skeet or 8s for sporting and trap. With 800X Im getting 1240fps with a 1oz load in federal plastic hulls. They crimp down nicely.

Great short wad | 2/22/2012 |
I reload for cowboy action shooting with Triple Se7en powder which is bulky. These short wads give me enough room for a good charge and a full 7/8 oz payload. Plus the plastic snot comes out of the barrel easily when cleaning.
